NATO Eurofighter & Tornado Management Agency (NETMA) and Eurofighter Jagdflugzeug GmbH Sign a Significant Contract

NATO Eurofighter & Tornado Management Agency (NETMA) and Eurofighter Jagdflugzeug GmbH have sealed a substantial deal worth a staggering €300 million, marking a pivotal milestone in the ongoing evolution of the Eurofighter Typhoon combat aircraft. This contract encompasses essential enhancements within the operational range, including the metamorphosis from the current M-Scan to the cutting-edge E-Scan radar.

Ruediger Knoepfel, Deputy General Manager of NETMA, stated, “Bringing this contract together has been a successful traverse for the Eurofighter, the Eurofighter Partner Companies, NETMA, and the core Nations. It is yet another important step in the development of Eurofighter’s most successful ever air-superiority program. This contract provides an important building block for future developments to come.”

The package also incorporates improvements to the BAE Systems’ decision air-to-surface options on Typhoon, along with adaptations to the cockpit display formats. Other enhancements include advancements to the Defensive Aids Sub-System (DASS) on board the various Eurofighter variants. This contract is designed to satisfy the specific requirements of the four core Nations customers and will ensure exceptional performance and versatility for our end users, with improvements to individual capabilities beyond standard for M-Scan and E-Scan radar.

In summary, this development will significantly enhance the operational capability of the Eurofighter, particularly in its avionics domain, and bolster the readiness of our end users.
