appearing to be a bottomless pit. When the tide is high, the hole gets filled with waves that then

splash out. The water pours back in at the same time, giving the impression that the sea

is always being drained by the hole.

7. Carhenge, Nebraska:

This odd sculpture, which sits off Highway 59, was made in 1987 by Jim Reinders as a memorial

to his father. Older brother recreated the Salisbury Stonehenge circle using 39 used automobiles.
