L3Harris Secures $104 Million Contract for U.S. Navy Electronic Warfare Systems

 

L3Harris Technologies has been awarded a significant contract worth $104 million to supply cutting-edge technology for the U.S. Navy’s ongoing electronic warfare (EW) program. This contract pertains to the support of the next production lot of the electronic warfare systems installed on F/A-18 Hornets and Super Hornets, further enhancing their capabilities. L3Harris will manufacture and deliver its Integrated Defensive Electronic Countermeasures (IDECM) jammer systems for the F/A-18C/D/E/F variants, featuring advanced under-the-new-contract expertise to be completed by May 2024.

The centerpiece of this contract is the L3Harris ALQ-214A(V)4/5, which plays a pivotal role in the IDECM program, protecting the aircraft against emerging threats through advanced electronic countermeasures techniques. This technology encompasses various functions, including aircraft self-protection, full mission profiles, avoidance, avionics, and electronic warfare systems. L3Harris’ engagement was made in conjunction with the Navy and contracted development of advanced EW technology under the Navy’s comprehensive EW technology innovation program, covering a wide array of air and ground threats.
