The postpartum period often triggers feelings of insecurity among mothers, especially when it comes to their physical appearance. Reflecting on this challenging time, an American woman decided to share her post-birth journey, documenting the evolution of her belly and physical shape after giving birth to twins.
Nubia wanted to address this topic with her followers and posted a side-by-side photo comparing her appearance before and eight weeks after the birth of her children: on the left, at 38 weeks of gestation, and on the right, the postpartum version of herself.
“I honestly don’t have anything negative to say. I love my body for what it has done and what it has given me… my precious little angels. But I’m also not going to say I love this version of me. I accept this version of myself with grace and love. Does that make sense?” the twins’ mom wrote on her Instagram.
She continued to share more photos of her body changes and encouraged other women not to feel bad about their own transformations.
“What I look like does not define me. What I do to take care of it does. Because I LOVE my body, I eat well. Because I LOVE my body, I exercise. Because I LOVE my body, I treat it with the respect it deserves. I practice self-love and work towards a better version of myself because I LOVE my body, not because I HATE my body! So let’s do this together… I encourage you to say something positive about yourself!” she added.
Nubia’s inspiring message resonated with many, as she embraced her postpartum body and encouraged others to focus on self-love and acceptance. Her openness and authenticity shed light on the importance of celebrating our bodies and the journey they embark upon during and after childbirth.
