Touching Story of Sunshine Coast Mother’s Remarkable and Rare Triplets Birth.
Bianca Robertson, an athlete and wellness coach, faced a unique and challenging journey when she discovered she was expecting triplets. Despite the initial nervousness, Bianca embraced the experience, drawing on her knowledge of movement and the human body. She had undergone reproductive therapy to conceive a second child and was surprised to find out she was pregnant with triplets at eight weeks.
Bianca’s reaction to the news was a mixture of astonishment and concern. As an athlete, she understood the physical and mental challenges that lay ahead. However, she was determined to see the pregnancy through and rejected the suggestion of reducing the number of embryos. The doctor presented her with a graph illustrating the risks involved, including higher rates of disability and infant mortality. Bianca’s response was to consider the possibility of having three healthy babies rather than focusing on the potential risks.
Throughout the pregnancy, Bianca faced physical discomfort and challenges. She became significantly larger, experiencing difficulty breathing and limited mobility. At 33 weeks, she required a ventilator but found little relief. It was decided that an induction was necessary, attracting three medical teams and numerous observers due to the rarity of vaginal delivery for triplets.
Bianca’s labor experience was surprisingly enjoyable, as she sent her husband and photographer friend to the bar briefly. She received an epidural and her waters were burst to assist with the delivery. After eight hours of labor, she began pushing and welcomed the first baby after 20 minutes. The following two babies arrived with a 25-minute interval. Each baby had its own amniotic sac and placenta, and Bianca had chosen not to learn their genders, adding to the excitement in the room.
The third baby, Hendrix, required a footling breach extraction. Currently, at four months old, Bianca continues to breastfeed the infants while supplementing with formula. She acknowledges the chaos and challenges of having multiple babies, but she manages to find a balance, often nursing two while bottle-feeding the third. Bianca shares her journey as a mother of four children under the age of three on social media, where she receives supportive comments from people who find inspiration in her story.
Bianca’s experience highlights her determination and willingness to make sacrifices for her children. Despite the physical and emotional challenges, she remains positive and embraces the joys and difficulties of raising her triplets. Her story serves as an inspiration to others facing their own parenting struggles, reminding them that they are not alone.
